Bad Day
Today is a bad day because I woke up late and is unable to go to the BDS lesson in the morning. Damm it, I sorta broke my record, think it's the first time I woke up late.

Can't help it, yesterday was a tiring day. I was modelling for my friends for their coffee table books the whole day. Morning I was at Tiong Bahru and by afternoon I am at Bukit Panjang already. I also managed to take some nice shots for my coffee table book. Really want to thanks Sophia, Vivi, Ping Ping, Audrey and Zhi Hao for their great help yesterday. It was tiring being a photographer because I have to direct how I want the model to be to get what I want. It was tiring being a model because you have to get the camera angle correct and sometimes to think of nice and new pose for the shoots. And after yesterday, I really want to kudos to those models and celebrities whom I think take good photos. And not to mention the professional photographer being the amazing photographs.

Ziyi was at my Maya lesson today. She was supposed to be rushing her assignments due tomorrow but she was surfing the internet instead. And after an hour, she said she didn't bring her hard disk where her Maya file is being saved and have to go home instead. And just before she leave, she said she decided to go home and play The Sims first. Wahaha, she is forever so blur and funny.

I know her since secondary school and she was surprised I got into the same course as her. She was already involved in the arts while I was so into Food and Nutrition then. But we went to the interview together and got in together. Yay!

Okie so my Maya is really the worst in class, and at the very last minute, I screwed up and I thought I was as good as dead. Audrey came to the rescue and delete the whole thing and fill the hole again. Thanks to her I saw some light for my Maya again. However, now after rendering, it looks like the handphone is being dropped onto the floor and is being dent. It's so ugly and uneven. Argh!

After Maya, I went to the meeting for our senior's grad show. I am in the committee and I am really looking forward to working with them for a wonderful grad show.

LOVE always
Ever since the new lecturer stepped in, our class is no longer a class. It had since become an agency call Father Hen. Seriously we have to forget Ms Shang and move on with our lives. We cannot live in the past right? I am still trying to.

I have been busy busy busy busy. My 3D Maya is totally chaos. It has so many vectors and my 3D don't look like the phone at all. Everything sucks big time when all your friends around you are doing well with theirs and a number of them even finished liao. I really cannot do maya! I believe I will score a C or below, really!

The Coffee Table Book dateline is drawing closer and closer and even closer. The work in progress tasks may be helpful to some students but however, if too much time is spent on that, then we will have lesser time for the actual progress of the assignment.

Oh no why am I complaining all this? I thought I am the model student? And I always hate people who complain about work. Because every student, okie I mean art directors in class is facing the same amount of workload and if everyone is like me complaining here and there, then it will be really chaos ain't it?

I apologise for that, that was really unprofessional of me.

Now school ain't that bad afterall. To be frank, I am starting to treasure my everyday in school because it's already the second year and very soon, the third year will come and tada! I will graduate liao. I look forward to eating the good food in school, look forward to meeting the other art directors (classmates) in Father Hen, look forward to the relaxing Mr Tan's Creative Communications and last but not least, the fun and exciting drama class. I am trying very hard to adapt myself in the fierce and drunken man role ever since I got the scripts. Lucky this year got no Drawing Studio, otherwise I will faint.

While reading a magazine today, I saw many movie reviews. I thought there are so many nice movies nowadays, and I asked myself: "When was this last time I watch a movie?" Oh gosh, so looong! So very long that I can't remember. And when was the last time I went other with my friends from Bukit View? More than a month ago I guess.

Don't you think I am enjoying myself in TCC from the above picture. I was there to do assignment lor. Okie, I remember I was in Bugis with my mum on Friday. We had a good time together and she enjoyed her "more than one hour" consultation at the SK-II counter where she bought her favourite products and mask for me while I enjoyed the wonderful dinner at Crystal Jade.

As for all more friends whom I haven have time to hang out with you recently, don't worry, I have not forgotten all of you. Chia Ling is back from Taiwan and Steffenie will be back from US on the 2nd of August. I am keeping my fingers crossed and hope I will have time to meet up with them. You know, I am not like those people who won't meet up even if I am busy. If I really can't meet you on Sunday Chia Ling, I'll arrange for another day with you.

Argh, zzzz monster has attacked me, time for beauty sleep I guess. So whoever is free tell me, let's go for a coffee at Starbucks someday, or even a wonderful short break at Sentosa or Johor Bahru? For everyone of my friends, good night and with lots of love from me.
Recently
Japan has confirmed that there has been leakage of nuclear in their nuclear plant due to the earthquake. How scary? Back in Singapore, the Dengue fever rate is still high and I strongly urge everyone of you to beware of the mosquitoes.

Recently, I have been trying to gain weight. I eat and eat and get hungary easily. But it is not because I am happy that's why I have good appetite. You know, school is stressful.

Like today, I went to Audrey's studio to take pictures for the Coffee Table Book assignment. It was fun but tiring. Now I know it ain't easy being a model.

Altogether, I did 2 looks- the rocker and the new age guy.

Audrey cut Zhao's fringe and gave him the Korean look. It was amuzing but hilarious at the same time. It's a new look for Zhao I guess and Vivienne is going to love it.

Back to school, we had an very interesting task for DET last week. The task is to go shopping as a group and come back to give presentation about the experiences. It was the most enjoyable task ever in DCMD! Woohoo!

And while preparing for the presentation, Marvin fell asleep. It was so unprofessional of him isn't it? No wonder he didn't get much votes for the Hey! Gorgeous show.

Nature of People
Yes indeed, I am in Malaysia about once a week. And so was I yesterday. Basically, my very dear aunty number 3 has very good and helpful friends at Batu Pahat. Every time we go there, they will treat us good food, bring us around and make sure we enjoy our trip.

Their air-con business is doing really very well and we were invited there yesterday to witness the opening of their new shop. Many locals are also aware about the opening as it is all over their local newspapers.

Each guest is suppose to sign on the guestbook and receive a lucky draw ticket. Everyone wants a piece of the lucky draw coupon and is squeezing and pushing around to be one of those to sign on the guestbook.

After the speech and lion dance, the buffet started! The buffet is really sumpous because it is by a local hotel. There are even satays and nonya kuehs! And so everyone started to grab the food.

The queue is so long, and it is forever long. Many locals came to eat the free food provided.

The satay stall became very crowded. We saw this Ah Pek, he grabbed a handful of satay and put it into his left pocket. He then grab another handful of satay and put it into his right pocket. He didn't stop still. He continue grabbing another handful and ate them in real hurry.

Some other people are more clever. They came with plastic bags and stuff the noodles, the chicken wings, the kuehs and everything into the plastic bags. They also have another plastic bags for drinks. After they Da Bao all that, they hide it under the table before going to eat the buffet.

Those aunties and Ah Ma(s) came with an empty handbag. Like what they do with the plastic bags, they stuff all the things into their handbags.

All the people look like they have been starving for a few days because they eat a lot! And you will be surprised even those Ah Ma also eat more than you think they can eat. Really?! When I saw this Ah Ma (yellow) take a mountain of food with another plate full of satay, I doubt she can finish but she did. And not only her, so many Ah Ma(s) and Ah Peks there eat more than everyone of us!

The lady in blue beside her also has a huge mountain of food. The fish cakes and chicken chop that she took stagged up real high. One hand is holding the spoon to eat and another hand is hugging the plate. I wonder if she loves the food she's eating or maybe she scare other people take away her food.

And then there are some other people who walks around with a plastic bag to collect the used cans. They came to the table, take the cans without asking and put them into their plastic bags.

I didn't ate the food. I was shocked to see what's happening around me and I have no appetite.

When the event ended, I saw an Ah Ma going home in her bicycle. There was 2 big boxes at the back sit of the bicycle (you can imagine what is inside) and in front of her bicycle (in the basket) is a plastic bag with a mountain of used cans.

When we were about to leave, we realised my dad's car was being scratched by the people there. However terrible can they get?

Anyway, let me conclude- We are not KIASU afterall!

Put on your dancing shoes, and party away
We hit the night club yesterday for the launch of the school's lifestyle magazine. Some kind souls taught us the way to Zouk. Yup, all clubbers should know where is Zouk but if you always take taxi to club, you really will have know no idea how to go there by public transport or worse still, walking from Great World.

Audrey and Sharon are 2 innocent girls waiting for the big night!

Nic is the poser and the wild cat.

We had real fun indeed, especially when the whole place is feel with your favourite lecturers and schoolmates. When we saw Khai (from hip hop), she pulled us up onto the mini stage on the dance floor. It wasn't long before we realised we were twisting and shaking with her. The video camera was directly on us and I simply pray that no one who knows me saw that as I was totally awful.

Back to school, Marvin just came back from Hong Kong and he is flaunting himself with all the new clothes he brought from Hong Kong everyday, from head to toe, and even his underwear!!! Argh! Mummy, I want to go too!!!

And here is a BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG news! The record sales for the top 20 albums sales in Taiwan for the first half of 2007 is out! Click here to see if your favourite singer is selling well in Taiwan!

Thoughts run wild

I've been thinking a lot lately, so much that my head is going to burst. I think I am emo, people say so too and I don't find it cool. I urge scientists to come out with a remedy for it. Quick, the victims are so poor thing!

Some thoughts that kept going through my head-

Most good looking people don't have good personalities. They can be flirt, overly confident, bossy and hard to be with. In fact, those uglier or average people have a better heart. I like them more. If you don't believe me, you jolly well take a look at the better looking ones around you.

And I always think that self centered people are terrible. But 小气鬼 people are also very terrible. Terrible terrible terrible. And the very the unreasonable and unprofessional.

And are those working adults who send their parents to old folk home un-filial? So what should they do so that they are filial? Imagine their parents are old and have difficulties in their movements, and the working adults have to work. So the filial thing to do is to employ a maid to look after their old and sick parents? Or is sending them to the old folks and make sure they are being taken care by professionals and have many other old people to mingle with more filial?

I claimed that I love kids but do I really like them? Kids these days are so naughty, spoilt and noisy. I was having dinner in the shopping mall with my family, and some kids are running here and there and making a lot of noise. I stared at them, many of them, and gave a shit face, even though their parents were there. For now, I think they are really irritating. Even for my brother, he is asking himself "What should I buy next?" every single day in his life.

I am kind of tired with life now. I have been trying very hard already, but it doesn't get me to where and what I want. Should I just let it go? Someone tell me where is my desired happiness?

Alright this is quite funny!

Assignment Week
Hiyee everybody. I am back but I am both sad and happy now. We talk about the happy thing la. After these few days of hard work, I finally submitted my assignment today! Now I can finally have my beauty sleep, watch my favourite television shows and have more time for my friends and family.

Okie now come the serious and sad part. Our lecturer Shang is leaving and today is our last lesson with her. We wrote her letters and Jon made a video with all of our greetings. For the past few days, she tried to be strong and convince us she is happy to be leaving. But after watching the video, I know she wanted to cry! As for me, I couldn't control myself. Maybe because I am such a emotional person and I love everyone around me. The moment she walked out of the room, I know she's gone and she's not coming back to Singapore. But come to think of it, this is part of life. People come and go and we still have to continue with our lives. I will try to be strong...no I mean stronger.

Back to the assignment. This assignment is a publication for a real live client, the Singapore Media Press. It is the first time we are doing publication design and I really enjoyed it. I would like to thank all those who had helped and guided the blur me along during the process. And now for the FIRST time, I am going to talk about how my assignment works.

The most headache part about publication is the printing and binding. We have to make sure everything (the page sequence, layout etc.) are in order before sending it for print. And we have to keep our fingers crossed that during the binding process, the person will not trim to much and cut off our text and designs at the four corners of the page. The kind of paper used, the printing quality and so on also make you headache. The cost is another headache part. You can spend up to $60 for the whole publication.

And so today is the day of submittion and our dear Ziyi is here doing last minute work. She want to emphasize that she is wearing her shirt for the first time today and that this is her only collar shirt. And don't blame her for wearing unmatching outfit, because this is her only covered shoes.

During these few days, she would come to me and update about how her Sims is doing. She had about 8 people to control in her Sims. And her Sims son steal her brother Sims wife and got pregnant. Then, that wife moved in to stay in her house. She also has a toliet bowl which became unusable because it was so dirty and no one clean it. She then add four walls around that toilet bowl as it cannot be deleted. In her house, she has three toilets and many many rooms. So rich right? And she would tell her mother about how her Sims are doing too!

A few minutes before the client comes, our studio is so quiet and neat with all the publications placed on the table. The client would then choose four of their favourite designs and the four students whose work are chosen had to present to them and sell their ideas.

The victory sign!

And ever since before the holiday till now when school reopened, I haven't had the chance to go eat my favourite Cha Kway Tiao. These few days especially, I kept daydreaming about my Cha Kway Tiao and my saliva filled up my mouth every hour, every minute and every second. I swear. I kept telling all the people around me I want to eat my Cha Kway Tiao but the stupid assignment stop me from that.

Fortunately, today my 3D Maya lesson was cancelled and I jumped with joy when I heard it! And immediately after class, we went to eat my favourite Cha Kway Tiao. The lady boss was telling me its been a long time since I went there to eat. The Zhu You Zha, the cockles, the oily oily noodle, the fresh green vegetables, the soft fish cake....Mmmmmmmm, it's so yummy. But although we were enjoying the food, all of us feel a little awkward. It's hard to describe the feeling. It's like we feel an emptiness in us!

Haix....don't know what to say leh. Shang is not coming back!

Our Society

Earlier this week, my dad was in hospital. My grandmother was also in hospital the week before. She was there almost every month. When I was in the hospital to visit her, I saw so many old and sick patients like her. My grandmother was in pain and she needs a machine to help her breath. She was shivering.

Then I asked myself, what if I am old? Will I rather die or will I rather suffer in pain and continue living each day. I really don't know, but I am curious about your answer. Can anyone who reads this tell me which will you choose?

I met this old man (picture) in Chinatown last year. He's very old already but he is still very healthy. He came to talk to us and he is constantly smiling. I don't know about his family but he is collecting some cardboard boxes.

Today is the day that I hate because GST is going up. I hope it will stop rising from here okie? You know, I always feel that I am fortunate here because we all have education and are pretty much civilised.

Last week, one of the residents here in my area, puncture our family car on purpose. And it is not the first time already. I am super pissed when I learned about it. Why will such thing happen here? I feel that I live in an above average residential estate, we have a professor living opposite our door and a NUS high school student on the next. This incident made me wonder if I am living in an estate like Geylang instead.

And I am so going to complain to the management tomorrow first thing in the morning!

Nowadays, many young adults feel that they want to migrate to other places. I've speak to a few of my friends and feel that the numbers are increasing. In five years time, Vivi may be in Korean dating a Seven look-a-like, Zhao may be in Hong Kong working with designers like those from Clot, and Michelle may be in China looking after her favourite panda bears.

Anyway, I just feel that civilised people can behaved in a civilised way. And I won't be surprised if the resident who did that stupid and childish thing is a working professional. And I don't think Mr Wong from Sixth Avenue and Miss Lily Chan from Paterson Road have ever met with such an act like mine. Oh count myself unlucky then!
