Good Grief!

Was at Plaza Singapore last weekend and guess who I saw? Rui-En. Don't be mistaken. I didn't purposely go there to see her. When I saw her I was like OMG! Why is she so skinny. She is so so so so so so skinny lor. I think if the wind too strong she will be blown away lor. And that stupid hairstyle! This kind of plain jane hairstyle is so not suitable for people like her who have a lot of attitude.

Come to think of that, it's normal for many celebrities to be so skinny. Some really skinny ones which I have seen with my own eyes are Sun Ho, Fann Wong, Jacelyn Tay, Ann Kok, Joi Chua, Quan Yi feng and now Rui En! But I think Rui En can be the champion of all skinny celebs. Notice that I didn't mention Patricia Mok because I don't even consider her as a celebrity. Haha.


Recently many youth (like me) must be busying doing the enrolment thingie for the poly. Just something for you guys to know, here are three enrolment packages from three different polytechnics. As you can see, we love the enrolment package from NP. It's so colourful with a beautiful smile in front of it. We like the NYP one which look professional and formal. Err, regarding the one from SP? ...

Too much shopping is a killer
I tell you! Being shopping king is no good thing. Because when you buy buy buy, you didn't realising that you spend spend spend and spend and spend until BOMB BOMB BOMB!!! Your pocket burst and a big big hole is left!

Yesterday I was accompanying three of my friends to shop for clothes in preparation for the school. They ask me to pei them, therefore my job is to pei them and give them comments and no more!

At the end of the day, they each ended up with less than three items and I ended up with eleven items. How could that be? Imagine the sum of money for these 11 pieces of clothing... but I already control control and control and only bought 50 percent of the clothes that I tried.

I know I know, I should kana piak piak piak! I should have really checked the dictionary for the meaning of control and really have this word in my mind, every moment.

Say no more! What shouldn't be done had already been done. And now! Ladies and gentlemen, I wanna tell you people that I, NicholasAPB, will learn to control and not spend anymore money to buy clothes for the rest of the month liao.

You may say CHAY, coz I could never control myself from shopping coz I am the shopping king afterall. But but just for your infor, just now at Marina Square, I saw so many shops and brands that I like, you know Skin, Puma, Zara, Lacoste .... and guess what, I managed to control! Although I really wish to errr you know, but I control. I didn't even dare to step into the shop. Day 1 succeeded! Bravo, way to go!

Perhaps you finally realised why I said all this. Yes, bingo, I am broke liao. I am not dating anyone, so being broke is a no no no no no no no way man! But have to accept the fact afterall, I am broke even though I am not attached.

Even though I will control so as to save money, I found that I will still need to spend at least $150 for the rest of the month. Firstly, I need to go salon and do my hair, then what about food? I need to eat when I am out and I am often out. Then is the transport. Bus, taxi, cab you name it. Now no more student fare, an ezylink card with $10 will run out after two days. What about those daily essentials like vitamin C and hair wax, fruits, skin care etc.?

Hmm, perhaps the reason why am I sick now is because I should be sick. I should be sick to think that I will spend little for the rest of the month. On the other hand, I am sick and that means what? That means I won't be able to go out for the next few days and that means I will save money. No transport, no shopping and no food. Yipee!

PS: I wanna win lottery this weekend!

Let's talk politics
While flipping the newspaper yesterday, I read an article about the younger generation not interested in the politics. However, survey shows that 7 out of 10 young Singaporeans would like to vote in the general election. Sounds very confusing. Does this shows that even though they are not interested, they found that it is important for them to make the decision for the country on the leader? I don't know.

It is important for us to keep an update about the current affairs that are happening around us. Watching the news or reading the newspaper is essential. Here, let me update you on some headlines.

If you read the news recently, the Thai demonstrators are burning figures of the Merlion, SIA plane and photos of prime minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong and Temasek Holding's cheif Ho Ching outside the Singapore Embassy in Bangkok. They demand to cancel the controversial sale of Shin Corp, the telecoms empire of Thailand.

Now let's look at the issue of building the causeway between Singapore and Malaysia. Talks are still undergoing. Malaysia stand is they wanna have a new causeway to be build but Singapore is not really interested into it. The republic felt that the building of the new causeway should be approve only if it is going to bring benefits to both parties. Hopefully the outcome of the talks between the two parties will result in a win-win situation. Meanwhile, according the The Straits Times, Malaysia had resumed the construction works of the causeway over at their side. May I highlight some quotes taken from the paper-

It is normal for countries to have differences in thinking. The most important thing is that both parties are able to come out with a solution for the matter peacefully, and not by force.

Blog recovered

My blog was down for about 24 hours the day before. Actually, recently some bloggers also encounter certain other problems with Blogger. Nvm, now that it's back to normal, I am pretty much relieved.


Was at a temple in Balestier this morning. Was waiting for my mother under the shade while she went toliet. Then I saw this twins. They wear the same clothes. They are fat and chubby. No I don't think they are cute. And the worse thing is they were playing Pesi Cola 1-2-3. You know, the one where you have to walk 3 big steps and if you touch another party's leg, you win the game. Yes they were playing this game and wear making use of the whole area. They almost hit me a few times. I have to walk here and there to prevent myself from getting step by them. I think it's very very very very very very very very very very stupid and inconsiderate of them to play such childish game in the at kind of place. If they should fall down on the spot, I will definitely laught.

Something funny while I was at the temple. When we donate money into the donation box, we must tell our name to the person there so they will pour praying oil into a jar or something and say something to tell god that we had just donated money. When it was my turn, I told him my surname which is "Hong" (in chinese). Then he said Hong Hong zhuo c mi shi shun shun li li. My mother laught and tell me I say wrongly. Yuan lai I should say my full chinese name! Alamak! I not Hong Hong.


Something to share... The fungal eye infection incident has caused a big stir in Singapore these days. Those with unused ReNu may go to the Bausch and Lomb booth at Millenium Walk these days for the consumer voluntary exchange program to exchange for the $12.00 voucher. Investigation of this incident is still in the process and there is no evidence to conclude that ReNu is the cause of the incident.

Okie I wanna go play The Chronicles of Narnia game liao. Finally I can boast around telling people I play game liao. Haha!

Nic at Sentosa
Hello everyone. I had a fun day yesterday at Sentosa. My friends actually planned the outing and asked me along. I felt like a tourist there because Sentosa had changed so much since the last time I went.



The weather was very very hot. Therefore, my friend had a good time sun-tanning. I old man liao so I stay under the shade and apply creams and eat and sing and take photos. At evening, we took the dragontrail to walk to the musical fountain. The fountain was boring but however, the effects on the fountain was very impressive.



See, the sun so big under I found it hard to open my eyes. But thankfully I had got no sun burnt. You will be surprised that I had got no mosquitoes bite. This reflects on how clean the beach is.



Sometimes when you want to go to the sea and play, beware of your stuffs. It is best if someone could be there to look after the stuffs. Look, a peacock is trying to find food but luckily we saw it and managed to stop it. If not, not only their food will be eaten, their bags will end up with holes.



The two girls had fun playing with the sands. Joey seen to be enjoying being trapped in the sand. Beware of sand bugs!



Lion king felt so refreshed after sun-tanning. In conclusion, I think Sentosa is a place where you can really have fun and de-stress. Many things there are pretty much different from mainland Singapore. Being there makes me feel like I am in another country or resort such as Bintan. In future, no matter who you are, if you are going Sentosa, ask me along hor!

Nic here to recommend to my readers this song. Sang by Joi Chua, this song became a great hit in Taiwan. Just might you be confused, no, Joi did not release a new album in Taiwan. In fact, a pianoist, Chen Kuan Yu invited her to sing this theme song for his piano album. It is very emothional and very touching. It also shows what good vocal this local singer has. Way to go! Anyone with this song please send me.

Jacqueline Birthday Part One
Today is Happy Family's Jacqueline birthday. The whole Happy Family came together to celebrate for her. Their first stop is this fast food restaurant call Carl's JR at Marina Square.


Now as you can see, the portion of each meal is so huge. It is meant for the ang-mo. We asian seldom eat such big portion. Jacqueline is smart because she ordered the smallest bigger in the shop. Because I first time go there eat, I don't know what to order and who knows....


I ordered a enormous burger! After eating the french fries, onion rings, fish and chips and vegetable ball, you won't be able to finish the burger unless you are really very very hungary. No matter what, we thank Jacqueline for the delicious meal!


Beautiful cake, beautiful candle and beautiful PEOPLE! They are the finest creation of god. They are non other than Happy Family! Video of the moment with the cake>

Just some personal comments on the show Dream Chasers, I think Shi Sin Huey acting skills is great but the role is simpily not suitable for her. The role is supposed to be very urm how to say, very hongki, very siao sa, very like that Fann Wong's role Jane in the movie The Truth about Jane and Sam and I think her voice, figure and style is not suitable. Some more still give her wear those high end clothes. However, I think her acting skills is the best among the other superstars in the show.

Show me the HAIR
Hello everyone, it's been quite some time since I update my blog. A stressful and depress week for me. Firstly, I had been posted to 2 courses in poly, one by JAE and the other by JPSAE. I know I should feel lucky about it but you see, I took such long time to choose the courses in my choices and now that I ended up with 2, I kinda have to think and think and think for quite some time before deciding which to accept. But I think by now I had already more or less know which course I really want.

Secondly, I am up with some financial difficulties recently. I think I had spent too much. On a single day shopping trip, I would spend up to 3 digits of money. And just imagine, my mother is not giving me allowance and I am not working. I want to save money. I have to control myself. I really blame myself for not being able to control the temptation of not buying things.

Last but not least, tell me where is my love life? I hope my TAO HUA will rise from NOW!


I bought Michelle to my salon to perm her hair today. How is it? Everyone says its nice but she seen unsure about it. But let me tell you people now, nowadays, very little people do rebond liao. The trend is perm. Even guys like Rain and Seven perm their hair. However, some people are may not be suitable to perm then rebond is the right choice and vice versa.


This is what I had for lunch at Food Republic. I think the coffee is nice as it got the right aroma and unlike that of Ya Kun's, it is not so sweet. The egg tart is a must try. It's really very yummy! I love it so so much! Yum yum, my saliva has fallen out of my mouth liao lo.


And this is my dinner at a restaurant opened by a few canto aunties in Far East. The share is small so if you are on diet and want some really delicious food, this is a good choice. Also, the food is not so oily so therefore, it's really healthy to consume.

Yesterday I invited some friends to my house to watch an old movie call "The truth about Jane and Sam" starring Fann Wong and Peter Ho. Although we had already watched this movie, we really love to watch it again. The story is rather special and Fann Wong performance was brillant. Her image really look like Faye Wong's style in that movie. It's very Siao Sa and cool. I want to be Siao Sa too! Can anyone teach me how to? Haha! Btw, go listen to the theme song for this movie- "Ai jiu ai there's no why". Nice!

Let's talk about FANN
She is the first then TCS (Television Corporation of Singapore) artiste to be able to release an album and to be made famous in Taiwan. She is also Singapore's first export to Hollywood (Pan LingLing that one not counted). To date, she is the most busy Mediacorp artiste with projects from all over the world.

Many people may think that Fann is her christian name but actually Fann is her surname. So don't be mistaken because Wong is not her surname. As her full english name is Fan Wong Fang, it make sense why she is being called Fann Wong.

Just like Sun Ho, Sun is not her christian name. In fact, her real christian name is Angel. As you know, people in America put their surname behind. For example, Zhang Ziyi is now known as Ziyi Zhang. So if you do the same for Sun, it will be Yeow Sun Ho. But maybe because Yeow Sun Ho is not pleasing to the ears, they change to Sun Ho so that it sounds better (I presume). For me, people call me APB. This is the short form for my name. It sounds smooth, pleasing but hey hey, don't mistaken it as Asia Pacific Breweries.



Paparazzi from the region had photographs of her holding hands with Christopher Lee and therefore, the relationship was being revealed. Even so, there are still fans who go crazy over her.

In January, when she was in a shopping mall promoting the animation movie Zodiac, a male fan got a chance to get up close to her and kissed her on the cheek and asked her to marry him. Weeks ago, the same person grabbed her arms when she was about to leave after a magazine's birthday event and gave her a bunch of roses.

Although rumours had said that she is going to star in the next sequence of Shanghai Knights, there are no comfirmations yet. Guess her fans can keep their fingers crossed and meanwhile, wait for her another major production of the year, where she will lend her voice for a international animated movie, Tekken 2006.
